Helen McCormick

Co-Founder & COO, Cape Crystal Brands

A graduate of Beijing University of Finance & Economics with a B.S. in Finance and Accounting, Helen brings decades of executive and operational experience to Cape Crystal Brands. Before co-founding the company, she served as Chief Operating Officer of EnvironMolds LLC, where she directed daily operations, logistics, and international sourcing.

At Cape Crystal Brands, Helen oversees business administration, supply chain efficiency, and customer satisfactionβ€”ensuring every ingredient meets the company’s high standards for purity and performance. Her financial expertise and dedication to precision have been vital in building Cape Crystal’s reputation for reliability and trust.

Outside of work, Helen enjoys cooking northern Chinese traditional dishes, sharing her heritage and culinary passion with family and friendsβ€”an inspiration behind Cape Crystal’s mission of bringing authentic, high-quality ingredients to every kitchen

A former U.S. Army Artillery Officer, Ed brings the same precision and discipline to food formulation that he once applied to the field. He studied at Carnegie Mellon University and Long Island University, earning a degree in business and communications that complements his decades of experience as a food formulation consultant and entrepreneur.

Ed is the author of Beginner’s Guide to Hydrocolloids, a comprehensive 600-page reference used by chefs, food technologists, and culinary educators worldwide. His next book, The Food Questions America Is Asking: How Journalists and Scientists Are Redefining What We Eat, is slated for release in 2026.

Through Cape Crystal Brands, Ed continues to bridge scientific understanding with culinary creativityβ€”helping both professionals and home cooks master the chemistry of taste and texture.
